Passwordless Authentication and Passwordless Security
It’s no secret — passwords can be a real headache, both for the people who use them and the people who manage them. Over time, we’ve created hundreds of passwords, it’s easy to lose track of them and they’re easily compromised. Fortunately, passwordless authentication is becoming a feasible reality for many businesses. Duo can help you get there.

I love the design of this program and used it for years, but it *repeatedly* corrupted every single backup chain it created and I was very lucky to never lose data as a result. This is a great concept that somehow failed to be executed properly as data integrity is the single most important aspect of "backup". It's hard to say this about a program I so badly want to like, but PLEASE use something else, for your own sake. If you do use Areca, make certain that it tests for integrity every single time it runs a job and PAY ATTENTION when errors occur, which they will. Errors will require a new Full backup to be created.

This one is an open-source backup utility written in Java with the purpose of introducing a direct and easy free backup software tool. It supports all three types of backups, it is lightweight, and it also requires a Java runtime environment. Layout is plain: the left-hand sidebar with archives, the main window with tabs (archives, logical view, history, etc.), the command line on the right. Overall, a good package although not all features are properly working and sometimes the app crashes. So, we’d recommend Areca Backup for users with one PC and infrequent backup tasks. Overall there are a lot of nice features included with this project. There is a lot of work and good programming in this package, but not all of the goals are fully realized and due to the number of unresolved bugs and seemingly low level of support, this package is not ready for prime time. I tried several attempts of getting it to work as a network backup solution (small home net of a couple machines) and received various errors and failures. If there was any error at all it simply crashed. For a single machine with no open files or a data drive, it seems to work fine but not a live system or any kind of unreadable, locked, pup-malware etc file. The biggest feature to repair would be to fix the missing VSS function, otherwise it is $$ware to continue using this even with its other faults. Read the other user forum comments ... will keep looking ETA... Couldn't get the x64 version to work on Win10x64 even with the posted workaround (bing search) but the x32 version did start just fine of W10x64.
